Pressco offers several solutions for preform inspection, depending on customer requirements. A set of scalable modules are available to provide comprehensive inspection of preforms across all of the critical regions of interest. All of these modules can be integrated inside stretch blowforming machines (i.e., Sidel, Krones, Krupps, KHS, etc.).
For customers requiring more sophisticated inspection of the preform, Pressco offers the option of a multicamera system that includes material handling. This fully integrated device can inspect the entire preform, including the seal surface, thread, neck ring, end cap and 360 degrees of the sidewall. Color verification will also be available shortly.

The single camera sidewall inspection module provides a back lit view of the body of the preform utilizing programmable CHROMAPULSE™ illumination to inspect a wide variety of colors and opacities.
The three camera sidewall inspection module provides multiple back lit views of the preform body to ensure full 360 degree coverage.
The End Cap preform inspection module provides a single camera, back lit view of the end cap through the mouth of the preform. Programmable CHROMAPULSE™ illumination allows for the inspection of a wide variety of preform colors and opacities.
The Seal/End Cap preform inspection module combines the seal and end cap inspections into a single trigger point to reduce the overall inspection footprint while maintaining the inspection quality in both regions.
The integrated material handling system is capable of inspecting a wide range of preform sizes and geometries at speeds of up to 1,200 parts per minute (72,000 parts per hour) and can be utilized in an off-line sorting or sampling configuration, or integrated with an injection molding machine.
