Applications Engineer

Pressco Technology Inc designs, develops and markets ultra high-speed sensing and process monitoring products for the global container manufacturing industry.

We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of APPLICATIONS ENGINEER.  This person will provide application feasibility and analysis studies for current and future product development.

Duties/Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare reports and analyses for Sales/Marketing and Project Engineering.
2. Test and evaluate unusual or difficult customer samples using Pressco inspection systems.
3. Develop prototypes and alpha units for advanced inspection applications.
4. Work closely with engineering teams to integrate advanced inspection technologies into products.
5. Serve as customer liaison for prototype evaluation.
6. Work closely with Marketing on new product development and sample evaluations.
7. Conduct demonstrations for customers on-site and at trade shows.
8. Interface with Project Engineering on any questions regarding advanced applications.
9. Assist Customer Service in solving field problems.
10. Travel to customer locations for run-offs, demonstrations, etc. as needed.
11. Other job related duties as assigned.

1. Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent machine vision experience on a broad range of imaging platforms.
2. Technical knowledge of lighting and optics design & concepts.
3. Excellent mechanical aptitude related to material handling systems.
4. Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
5. Self-motivated, hands-on orientation with follow through to complete assignments.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and desktop publishing software applications.
7. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
8. High speed digital electronics familiarity.
9. Ability to run application evaluations and document evaluation results.
10. Candidates must be creative, imaginative, be willing to invent, and have a high curiosity level.
11. Ability to travel internationally for up to two weeks at a time.
12. Foreign language skills a plus.
